The Cleveland Legal Collaborative was launched to help address the gap between free legal aid and traditional private legal services. Many individuals and families earn too much to qualify for legal aid but still find the cost of hiring a lawyer difficult to afford.
This challenge is often referred to as the justice gap. The Collaborative was created with the support of community partners and funders who recognized the need for new pathways to connect people with legal help.
While the Collaborative continues to evolve, its roots remain in expanding access to legal services and supporting lawyers who are building sustainable practices that serve the community.
