Thinking about a career in the law?

If so, we have a great program for you! The Summer Legal Adventure, named in honor of the late Stephanie Tubbs Jones, a Cleveland lawyer and judge of note, and member of the U.S. House of Representatives, is designed to introduce promising diverse students to the legal profession. Area high school current 9th – 11th grade students will participate in this very interactive law institute. The faculty of area judges, lawyers, and law professors will introduce the participants to numerous legal issues and career opportunities

What to Expect

This is a one-week summer immersive dedicated to the exploration of the legal profession. Participants spend five, five-hour days exploring self-advocacy in an interactive student-led engagement style, mock law school classes on campus, panel discussions, and mentorship. Participants are eligible to reapply for program participation through eligibility years. While applications are accepted on a rolling basis, placement priority is granted to those who submit applications by May 18th.

2026 Program Dates: Monday, June 22nd – Friday, June 26th!

Who Can Participate?

The program is offered to high school students in Northeast Ohio. This is a tuition-free program, sponsored by program partners including the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and Foundation, Case Western Reserve University School of LawCleveland State University College of LawUniversity of Akron School of Law.
