Bixenstine Resolutions

Bixenstine Resolutions provides expert mediation and arbitration services. The members, Barton and Kim Bixenstine, draw on their extensive legal experience and lessons learned from hundreds of settlement negotiations, mediations and arbitrations.  Bart specializes in employment, commercial and business disputes, including disputes involving sophisticated statistical issues. Kim handles all types of civil disputes, including health care, malpractice, employment, commercial, class actions and multi-party matters.  Bart has been consistently selected for Best Lawyers in America and Ohio Super Lawyers honors and is a Fellow in the National College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.  He is on the panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) for mediation and arbitration of employment and commercial disputes. Bart was in private practice from 1981–2015 and has served exclusively as a neutral since 2016.  Kim was elected to serve on the Shaker Heights City Council for a 4-year term beginning January, 2024.  She was named Leader-in-Residence for Health Law & Policy by Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 2020.  She served as Chief Compliance Officer for University Hospitals (UH) from 2015-19, and as VP & Deputy General Counsel of UH for litigation and risk management from 2003–15. From 1999–2003, she was VP and Chief Litigation Counsel of TRW, Inc., and was a partner at Jones Day from 1991–99.  She has served exclusively as a neutral since May 2019. She is on the AAA panels for mediation and arbitration for employment, commercial and health law disputes.  Kim and Bart are both graduates of University of Chicago Law School.
